The Chairman of the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority, James Cleverly AM, published a letter on 15 August, in which he made a number of statements about cuts to Fire Services in London.
The key omission, though, was his failure to place the blame for the situation squarely on the shoulders of the Mayor. As such, I have today written a response to Mr. Cleverly, which you can read here.
I believe he’s ignored the views of the hundreds of thousands of Londoners who responded to the consultation, or marched against the cuts or protested outside City Hall. The Mayor, and Mr. Cleverly, should take responsibility for the legacy they are leaving Londoners.
