Getting an update on the Barking – Gospel Oak line

On the 20th July, I visited Glenn at the Barking and Gospel Oak line in my constituency of Walthamstow.

Glenn is the secretary of the Barking and Gospel Oak Rail User Group (BGORUG) and we’ve long worked together trying to ensure that the well used and valued line between Barking and Gospel Oak remains up and running for it’s users.

The line is now undergoing electrification since Network Rail engineers and contractors have successfully lowered the track to create the clearances for overhead wires. I have been in contact with TfL regarding the matter to push for this electrification to happen as quick as possible.

Furthermore, I have written a letter to Peter Hendy from TfL regarding the inputting of lifts at Blackhorse Road, in order to give the station step-free access.

I would like to thank Glenn for taking the time to show me around, and would implore everyone to visit the BGORUG website here.

If you have anything you’d like to flag with me within my constituencies you can do so at
